COUNTRY

Its not the end of the road yet. From the website of RC Barnes."Since his birth in 1934, R.C. Barnes has been living a country song. A child of divorced parents, he was left with his great-grandparents who raised him until his early teens. Then he hit the road to Alabama to become a truck driver at the early age of 14. He served in Korea in the early 50’s in the Navy Seabees then ended up in Ohio until the early 70s. Then he headed West to Oregon where he would remain for over 20 years living the life of a cowboy. His look today probably originated from those days of cattle drives and ranch work. It was there that he eventually became a part of the band If That Ain’t Country. They made a name for themselves in the Northwest playing the rodeo circuit in Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada all the while playing in clubs all over the Northwest. In the late 1990’s he took a job working with the military. His movements rarely got him back home to Oregon, so after a couple of years he moved back to Ohio. He played with various bands around the Youngstown area including After Midnight, Roadwork, and the StoneRidge Band. Music has been one of the great loves of his life, the other being the women in his life and this is most evident in the songs he has written including “Grandma’s Song” and “Getting Over You Again”. Until he started focusing on his songwriting and singing his own music, it was mostly Merle Haggard songs that he performed and he has had the great opportunity to be acquainted with Merle and the late Bonnie Owens for over four decades. His style of music and personality make his live shows truly great entertainment.. $13.00 + shipping.
